Meet The Author

K. A. Cross Presents...

Nikole Bloom

About Nikole

Nikole Bloom is the woman you see daily. There is no flash and no telltale signs she aspires to write the next great romance novel. Her laptop serves as her creative outlet. In October of 2014, she decided to try her hand at writing her first romance novel. Nine months later Not Enough was born.
Nikole lives in north Texas with her husband, five-year-old son, and three rescue dogs. She spends her days working a full-time office job and evenings tending to her children (yes that includes the three fur babies). Nikole writes when she can find time in her increasingly busy life.

Want to know more?

1. When did you first realise you wanted to be a writer?

I actually started Not Enough on a whim. I fell in love with the process and wouldn’t know what to do with my free time if I weren’t writing.

2. In what kind of environment do you work best in?

I like a distraction free environment with music playing in the background.

3. Do you ever base your characters on people you know?

I have not done that yet. However I did see a quote on Twitter that said, “If you are mean to my child be prepared to become ridiculed in my next book.” That may not be the exact quote, but I love the idea and will use it soon.

4. What do your family and friends think about your book/s?

My friends and family have been supportive. They have helped tweak the storyline and beta read the book several times. I am lucky I have a large family full of readers.

5. Do you plan out your books or do you just go with the flow?

I am a fly by the seat of your pants type. I have tried sticking to an outline but I end up spending more time revising the outline than anything else.

6. Who is your favourite author?

I don’t know that I have an actual favorite, but my favorite series was written by K. Bromberg.

7. What’s your favourite genre?

Romance is definitely my favorite genre.

8. What’s next for you?

I will be publishing book 2 of The Enough Series this fall and then it will be on to writing book 3.

9. What’s your favourite movie?

This always depends on my mood but Dirty Dancing is always a watch for me.

10. What your guilty pleasure?

Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream

11. What’s your favourite season and why?

Fall! I love football season and cooler temperatures.

12. How do you cope with distractions?

Being a mom, I am accustomed to distractions. I block them out and go on about my business or tend to them it they require it.

13. What would be your ideal holiday?

My ideal vacation would be an exotic location where I could lounge around and play golf.

14. Sweet or sour?

Sweet

15. What three words best describe you?

Stubborn, dedicated, fun

16. What your fondest childhood memory?

Playing golf with my dad and grandfather.

17. Would you prefer a quiet night in or a night on the town?

I had plenty of wild nights on the town in my younger days. Now I prefer a quiet night in with family or friends.

18. If you could be any animal in the world what would you be and why?

A dog that lives in my house. They are spoiled rotten. Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone pamper you all day long!

19. What was the last thing that made you cry?

A book. I don’t remember which one though.

20. If you could have any super power what would it be and why?

I would want to fly. It would be great to go anywhere you want without traffic. I despise traffic!

21. If you only had one more day to live how would you spend it?

With my family doing everyday things. It is the little moments that mean the most for me.

22. For many of us writing is not our full time job, what is yours?

I work full-time at an office supply company.

Not Enough

I am the self-proclaimed queen of abstinence.

After a failed engagement and years of being told I am not enough, I have given up on love. I am content in my life. I have a great job. I have a supportive family I have built over the years. My life is not exciting, but it is the life I have chosen.

That is until I inadvertently walked into Austin Black’s life. Austin is as beautiful as he is endearing and with a single plea for friendship, he pulls me in. He is an All-Pro quarterback and has women falling at his feet, yet he opts for my friendship in hopes it will lead to more.

I refuse to give him what he wants, but as our friendship deepens my resolve begins to weaken. Willing to take whatever I can offer Austin stands by my side seemingly content as friends.

Austin and I find a groove in life that works until the proverbial line is crossed. I quickly realize I have to face my past if I have any hope for a future with the only man to make me dream of one.

Is it possible to date someone without realizing you are in a relationship? Can Austin be the one to melt the fortress around my heart? Will it matter if he does? In my experience, love has never been enough.

Quick Apology

Hi everyone, I recently posted a 'Meet The Author' update, including a release date of a new title. The author, JL Synder, has since been back in contact with me. It seems there has been a slight delay in the release of his book, Battle Cry 2 Shadow of the Sword. So it will now be released in late September. Once I know the exact date I will post purchase links for you all to check out. Once again sorry for the inconvenience.
